Dear Parents:
Your child is a very special part of our class. Your child's week to be
highlighted as our "Top Toucan" is listed below. We would like to have you
join in the fun in the following ways:
Please write an interesting biography about your child using the Top Toucan
sheet. (Press here for page). Use a poster board to paste on special
pictures of your child doing certain things that they like to do and special
people in their lives. Please use captions to tell us who, what, and where.
Please choose a day and time that you can come in and read a story to our
class. You and your child may choose a book together. Your child will have
the opportunity to introduce you to the class. To correlate this activity with
career awareness, we would greatly appreciate it if you would share with the
class the job you perform to make our community a better place and also
anything about that job that would increase an awareness about the world
around us.
A bag and Monty the Monkey will be going home with your child on the
Friday before his/her week and may spend the week at your house. Please
journal all the special things that your child and Monty do during the week.
At the end of the week, please send Monty and his memory book back so
the class can read about the fun-filled visit to your home.
