Tail-Waggin' Behavior

Your child's success is very important.  To create and maintain a
positive learning environment for all, students are expected to
behave appropriately in class.  As a believer of positive
reinforcement, students are rewarded for making wise choices
each day.  Types of rewards includes verbal and nonverbal praises,
cruisin' cash, treats, extra recess, "cents for success", caught
being goods, etc.

If a student is "caught being good", he/she will get a slip of paper
to write their name on, and to be deposited in the "Caught Being
Good" box.  At the end of the day, two names will be picked from
the box.  These students will get to pick something from the
treasure chest.

The class will earn a penny each time all the students follow the
class or school rules.  When the students have successfully earned
25 pennies, they will get to vote on a type of reward.  (Popcorn
party, Popsicle party, extra recess, etc.)

The conduct grade for the day is determined by the color of the
bone at the end of each day.  I use the "I owe you" and the You
owe me" policy.  Students start the day with an orange card, which
serves as a "Freebee".  If a student commits an infraction, a signal
of "You owe Me" is given.  The student will move their card
backwards.  If a student is caught behaving appropriately, a signal
of "I owe you" will be given.  The student will then move their card
forward.  Students have the opportunity to redeem him/herself
throughout the day by making wise choices.

Code/Grade:
Neon pink:  "I owe you" while on orange (A+)
Orange:  5 points (A)
Purple:  5 points (A-)
Pink:  4 points (B)
Blue:  3 points (C)
Green:  2 points (D)
Yellow:  1 point (F)

At the end of the day, students with neon pink will get to pick
something from the treasure chest.  Students that stayed on
orange all day long will receive a treat.

In order to promote positive behavior school wide, students will
earn cruisin' cash to purchase things from the "Cruise Shop."  All
school personnel are "rich" enough to give away cash to any
student that follows the school's positive behavior motto (STING).

Another area of concern is student's attendance.  In order to
promote high attendance, students with perfect attendance for
the entire month will be recognized on the big bulletin board
across from the library.  The class will also receive a "link" for the
perfect attendance chain each time all students are present at
school.  Students will vote on the type of reward each time the
chain reaches the ground.

BOW WOW TO TAIL-WAGGIN'BEHAVIOR!
