Our 7th grade technology class has been set up for students to learn how to use different software programs
that the instructor deems important.  As this is my first year working in the lab, I have decided to change the
syllabus around a little bit.

My first goal for 7th graders will be to make sure that students have the keyboarding skills that I feel are
necessary.  If students can type 40 - 45 wpm accurately, they will begin with the second phase of our technology
class.  If students are not quite up to speed, they will work with the
Typing Time software to get where they
need to be.  Your child will not miss out on instruction of programs, but I feel that my first step in creating
success is to make sure everyone can type at a decent speed.   My second goal is to teach Word, Powerpoint,
Excel, Access, Photostory, and if time permits Activstudio (Activboard software) and Roxio MovieMaker.
