It's the 100th day of school, and
we think it is totally cool.
Students in Kindergarten-second grade enjoyed many
things throughout the day.
In Kindergarten they sang songs and did all kinds of
things with 100 items. They counted, they sorted,
and then they ate 100 things, YUM, YUM, YUM!
Our first graders challenged some of our middle
school students to blow up 100 balloons for one of
their activities. This event was timed to see how
long it would take them to get the job done.
"It's going to take them ten minutes..."
"I say ten hours..."
Mrs. Broussard asked one of the 8th graders how
long he thought it would take his class to blow up all
100 balloons, Scott's answer was right on target -
three minutes and twenty-four seconds. To Mrs.
Broussard's amazement, his class took three minutes
and thirty seconds! "...SO CLOSE!"
As we all know, Mrs. Wardell loves a challenge. Her
class completed, but it took them three minutes and
fifty seconds to blow them up.
Just when the kids thought the activity was over,
their teacher surprised them with round two. "How
long do you think it will take us to pop 100 balloons?"
The kids roared and cheered and found out that it
actually took them longer to complete the task.
In second grade, students made 100th day glasses
and sang different songs as well.
I think a fun day was had by all! Thanks to the
lower elementary teachers for making 100th day a
DAY TO REMEMBER!
